Facilitate and be the catalyst for workforce development services that are responsive to the employment needs of Brevard County.
A highly competitive workforce for Brevard County.
$13.4 Million invested in employment and training services helped place 4,202 people in jobs, creating a $141.8M annualized infusion of full-time wages in Brevard County.
It was just one year ago when I expressed my gratitude for being a part of CareerSource Brevard’s (CSB) successes, especially in finding and building skilled talent for our businesses at a time when record low unemployment numbers meant there was a lot of competition for skilled workers.
Just three months later, the unemployment rate quadrupled as our community along with others across the U.S. suffered the physical and financial impact of the global COVID-19 pandemic. No one could have predicted such a downturn a year ago.
Change is inevitable, but the kind of change we have all experienced in 2020 is something that we wouldn’t even expect in a Hollywood sci-fi epic. These times of adversity, uncertainty, and often chaos, have helped us work even harder to help one another. I am deeply honored to have been part of the CareerSource Brevard (CSB) leadership team during these challenging times, and I know we stand ready to meet the next challenges head on.
This report will demonstrate how quickly and effectively the Board, the team at CSB, and its valuable partners were able to deliver critical workforce services to a community that so desperately needed them. The numbers tell the story. Compare them to last year if you like. We upped our game and did not miss a beat! For that, I am incredibly grateful to all of you.
Our business services are demand-driven and talent-focused, meeting the needs of the people who live and work here.
“Halfway through this program year, the COVID-19 pandemic struck, thrusting CareerSource Brevard into a virtual business model that greatly expanded its service options to jobseekers and businesses. Adaptation and resilience from staff provided a seamless transition into this virtual environment.”

We are leveraging sector strategies by aligning public resources to address the skills needs of critical industries.
It is our vision to build a highly competitive workforce for Brevard County.
The onset of COVID-19 challenged the team to adapt to the dichotomy of Brevard’s record low-to-high, unemployment. Within months, CSB switched focus from engaging Brevard’s underemployed to triaging thousands of newly-unemployed. Staff helped jobseekers navigate the State Re-employment system, offered a variety of new virtual workshops and much more, all in the effort of getting people back to work.”
